Nefertiti Neck Lift Treatment

Reverse the signs of aging with a Non Surgical Neck Lift Procedure

Neck and Chin

A Nefertiti Lift is a non-invasive procedure wherein tiny amounts of botulinum toxin type A are injected into the muscles in your neck, specifically the ones that run vertically from the bottom of the face to your collarbone, creating a downward pull on your jawline.

Named after Egyptian Queen Nefertiti, one of the most famous women of the ancient world and an icon of feminine beauty, known for her elongated, thin neck. ‘Nefertiti’ means ‘a beautiful woman has arrived’ and, true to its name, this mini-lift counteracts lost elasticity and the effects of gravity to redefine the age-vulnerable neck and jawline

This treatment specifically targets the neck and jawline area using Botulinum Toxin for a rejuvenating and uplifting effect.

The neck and jawline are often neglected in favour of facial work. However, if the neck or jawline are saggy and loose, then this can ‘give away’ the fact that treatment has been had elsewhere.

The neck area can be particularly tricky to treat effectively as the skin is quite delicate and thin. However, this treatment can deliver remarkable results.

The Nefertiti Lift is designed to redefine the jaw and also soften neck lines for a rejuvenating effect that presents smoother skin without the need for surgery.

The Nefertiti Lift can be achieved with different treatment options and is used to target different issues of the lower part of the face, including:

  • lessen lines and wrinkles

  • smooth dimpled skin on the chin

  • erase or reduce folds or sagging

  • even out the symmetry of the lower face, jaw, and neck

  • remove lines on the neck

  • create a more pronounced definition of the jaw

Benefits of the Nefertiti Lift:

  • Improved jawline definition

  • Improved appearance of prominent neck bands

  • Short treatment time

  • An effective alternative to surgical procedures

Before your treatment you will have a consultation with Dr Chike Emeagi to discuss your concerned areas, ideal results, side effects and to disclose any medications or medical history.

After the initial consultation, Dr Chike Emeagi will be able to advise on the best treatment options for your individual case.

48 hours before the treatment you should avoid drinking any alcohol. On the day of the procedure, a thin, sterilized needle is used to inject the botulinum toxin into the muscle band along your lower face, jaw, and neck about a half inch apart. The toxin will then diffuse down gradually into the muscle.

This type of procedure will typically require multiple injections, but it only lasts around 15 minutes. If you are concerned about pain or discomfort, a topical anaesthetic or ice can numb the treatment area.

Is Botulinum toxin safe?

Botulinum toxin has been used for many years in both cosmetic and medical treatments. It is the most popular non-surgical treatment in the UK and in the world by far.

Will it hurt?

You can expect to feel a prick when the Botulinum toxin is injected; although this is more ‘discomfort’ than ‘pain’ as we use a very fine needle. If required, we are also able to offer ice as a topical anaesthetic and if necessary, a dental block anaesthetic is also available. We also provide pain killers on request for patients that require them.

When will I see the results?

While you may feel some lack of response from your muscles right away, botulinum takes several days to take full effect. In the case of the Nefertiti Lift, it may take up to three weeks to see the best results. On average, botulinum lasts for three to four months, but results can last up to six months, depending on the dose administered, the individual’s metabolism and the strength of the muscle injected. After this time, you may decide to go for maintenance appointments twice a year or more.

How long will it last?

Botulinum is a temporary treatment and does wear off with time. The Nefertiti Lift can be expected to last around 3-6 months depending on the patient. However, treatment can then be repeated in order to maintain the effect. There are also those that argue that this can be a preventative treatment – delaying the sagging keeps skin tighter for longer.

Are there any side effects?

Botulinum toxin injections are considered safe for most people, but there are possible side effects risks. Right after the Nefertiti Lift you may notice some side effects similar to those of other cosmetic procedures involving botulinum toxin. These include: - bruising or redness at the injection sites - difficulty swallowing - weakness in your neck - flu-like symptoms - headache These side effects should wear off within a day or so. Women that are pregnant or breastfeeding should not have botulinum injections. Also, patients that have a previous allergic reaction to it should avoid this type of treatment. The procedure requires minimal recovery and no downtime, and you may even be able to return to work immediately afterward. You should avoid working out for at least a few hours after the injections. But after 24 hours, you should be able to resume all your normal activities.
